fsrewrite(1) is an open-source utility for Solaris which allows non-privileged users to run programs in an environment where file-system paths can be virtually remapped. Programs which read from or write to fixed paths can be transparently redirected elsewhere without the need to make any global changes.
fsrewrite requires Solaris 8 or later and supports both SPARC and Intel processors. It is not currently under active development.
